Our Key Pest Control Services in Swansea

Whereas good housekeeping can minimise the chances of a pest problem, more often than not a general pest treatment once a year is needed to help keep the pests at bay. Many of our customers schedule their annual pest spray for springtime, just before crawling pests and spiders start to make an appearance. A spray treatment can be carried out right through until autumn.

As well as helping prevent pests from entering people’s homes, we are here to help when there is a ‘pest emergency’ too! If a particular pest is causing issues – maybe there’s a wasp nest in the garden or evidence of rodents in the kitchen – we are on hand to deliver fast, efficient pest control services. Click on one of the pests pictured below to read more about our specialised services.

When it comes to termites, you always need to remain vigilant. Termite activity can be very difficult to spot to the untrained eye, so it’s worth knowing the signs of termite activity. However, having an annual termite inspection by a professional, qualified termite inspector is essential, as termites can cause major damage in as little as six months. Having a professional inspection once a year not only spots the early signs of termite activity, but also identifies conditions and issues that may make a termite attack more likely. Fixing these will significantly reduce the chances of a termite attack.

Termite Treatment Swansea

Prevention is better than cure when it comes to termites. This is why the best way to protect your home against termites is to carry out a preventative termite treatment, which makes it more difficult for termites to access your home via their underground tunnels. The two most common options are soil treatments and baiting systems. A liquid soil treatment involves mixing a termiticide liquid with the soil around the perimeter of the property. A baiting system involves installing bait stations at regular spaced intervals around the property. These termite bait stations are installed in the soil, discreetly hidden from view.

Both options are very effective at reducing the likelihood that termites will get access to your home without being detected. Understanding which is the best termite treatment for your home comes down to a few different factors, such as the age of the property, its location, whether it is on a sloped site, and more.

Swansea – Key Pests

The top pest in Swansea is of course termites. The warm climate together with lots of moisture in the soil makes conditions perfect for termites, so homes are always at risk of termite attack all year round. Plenty of other creatures can cause issues for homeowners; spiders, ants, wasps and cockroaches are common reasons for customers to give us a call.

Cockroaches are never far away and can infest a properties all year round. Cardboard boxes are popular cockroach hiding spot so check any boxes you bring into the house. The spring and summer months are when ants and spiders become more visible in our day to day lives, wandering into homes (usually accidentally, in the case of spiders) or intentionally seeking food, in the case of ants. European wasps can be a big problem in outdoor areas as their aggressive behaviour and stinging capability make them a risk to pets and children in particular. During the cooler months, rodents will seek shelter indoors, with kitchens and subfloors providing ideal nesting conditions.
