Homeowner often struggle to eliminate a flea infestation as they don’t identify and treat all infested areas, both inside and outside the home.
Rebel Pest Professionals guarantee complete elimination of your flea infestation.
How we get rid of fleas > Professional Flea Treatments
Our flea treatment process
Before we arrive…
- Mow your lawn as low as possible, as close to the day of treatment as you can
- Thoroughly vacuum your home
Although our treatments are very effective, if you can thoroughly vacuum the house before we arrive it has 2 key benefits:
- It dramatically reduces the number of fleas, larvae and eggs present, making the treatment faster and more effective
- It causes any pupae present to hatch, exposing the emerging flea to our treatment and so delivering a faster result
- Make sure the vacuum waste is immediately placed in a plastic bag, sealed and placed in the garbage bin
- Make sure the vacuum waste is immediately placed in a plastic bag, sealed and placed in the garbage bin
- Treat your pet with an appropriate veterinary flea treatment
- Arrange for your pet to be kept off site during the treatment
Inspection
After we arrive, we will inspect your home inside and out to determine the infested areas. It can be helpful if you can point out any of your pet’s favourite resting areas (inside and outside) as these are likely to have the heaviest flea infestation and will need to be treated.
Treatment
We will treat all infested areas and additional areas of concern with a water-based flea treatment. Typically, we use a combination of products, an insecticide to provide instant kill and some long-lasting protection and a special flea product which continues working after the insecticide has broken down. This flea product “breaks the breeding cycle” thus preventing any new flea infestations establishing for many months.
The treatment will include treating all pet resting areas inside and outside the home, and the sub-floor (if you have one) and if it can be accessed by animals.
After we leave…
It is important that all pet bedding is either thrown out or treated (hot wash / tumble dry).
Try and avoid washing or vacuuming floors for at least two weeks after the treatment.
Safety concerns?
We will always discuss any safety concerns you may have before carrying out a treatment. If we are carrying out a spray treatment, it will be necessary to keep children and pets out of the area until the treatment is dry. We always choose the products with the best safety and environmental profile.
What to expect from our flea treatments?
The flea treatments are very effective and will kill all fleas, larvae and eggs present within minutes. HOWEVER, any flea pupae present in the carpet are impervious to the insecticide. These pupae can continue to hatch for up to 2 weeks after the initial treatment. Any emerging fleas should pick up the residual insecticide from the surface and die, however it is occasionally possible for them to bite before they die. If you are still noticing fleas after 2 weeks, please give us a call.
End-of-lease flea treatments
Rebel Pest Professional provide end-of-lease flea treatments. Please confirm that the service you require is an end-of-lease flea treatment at the time of booking so we can ensure you meet the requirements of your lease.
What Our Customers Say
What are the signs of a flea infestation?
- Pets continually scratching
- Flea dirt (flea droppings) which are small grains of black pepper, may be seen when grooming the pet
- Bites on humans or pets
Flea outbreaks are quite often experienced when entering a holiday home or house which hasn’t been lived in for a while. This is because flea larvae already present in the house have developed, and they have remained dormant on their pupae. As soon as you enter, the vibrations cause them to hatch meaning there are hundreds of hungry fleas ready to pounce!
