Our Key Pest Control Services in Kurri Kurri

The two most popular services we offer are ‘spider sprays’ and termite inspections. A spider spray is otherwise known as a general pest treatment. This is a treatment that is sprayed around the perimeter and exterior walls of the property to keep pests out. A professional termite inspection can be scheduled at the same time as the general pest treatment, meaning customers can save time and money!.

If a specific pest is causing an issue, talk to us about our specialised pest control services. We offer professional solutions that target a wide range of pests, from ants to rodents. Click on one of the pests pictured below to find out more.

While we love keeping people’s homes pest free, we also work with local businesses in Kurri Kurri to keep premises safe for staff and patrons. Cafes, hotels and sports facilities are just some of the businesses we’ve partnered with to keep them compliant with government health and safety standards. Regular inspections and maintenance services are scheduled at appropriate intervals, with pest management programs tailored to meet the needs of each individual business.

Termite Inspections Kurri Kurri

Termites can cause significant damage to a property if they gain access to the wood elements. If left unnoticed for several months, they can consume significant amounts of timber (which contains the cellulose they eat). Having your home inspected annually for termites is a key step towards minimising the risk they present. Our professional termite inspectors perform inspections thoroughly, checking for signs of termite entry and assessing the property for construction flaws that may allow termites to gain access without being seen. A comprehensive report is compiled, which also contains recommendations for ways to minimise termite attack in the future.

Termite Treatments Kurri Kurri

Keeping a property free from termites means preventing them from gaining entry. This can be difficult as termites are subterranean creatures that will often gain access via the subfloor or through the concrete slab without being seen! For homeowners in Kurri Kurri, having a termite treatment is the best option for protecting a home. This would typically mean a soil treatment, which involves the application of termiticide around the property, and/or a monitoring/baiting system, where bait stations are placed in the ground at intervals around the property. Having a termite treatment is an investment that offers huge peace of mind for homeowners, as termite damage is very rarely covered by standard home insurance policies. Taking a proactive measure to discourage termites from accessing the home is the best way to protect against termite attack.

Kurri Kurri – Key Pests

Kurri Kurri has a warm and temperate climate with hot summers and cool winters. The town can see a significant amount of rainfall, even during the drier months.

The climate in Kurri Kurri is just how pests like it – warm for a significant part of the year, with a good amount of rainfall to keep soil moisture levels up. Crawling pests such as cockroaches, spiders and ants make an appearance from early spring through till late autumn. Rats and mice are happy outside until the temperature drops in autumn, when they seek shelter indoors for the cooler months. Kitchens and cosy subfloors are some of their preferred spots! Termites on the other hand are active all year round, continually searching for new food sources and expanding their colonies. This is why they should be considered the greatest threat to homeowners, due to the extensive damage they can cause across all seasons.

Kurri Kurri – Key Facts

1

Kurri Kurri means ‘the beginning’ or ‘the first’, a reference to it being the first Australian town that was planned in detail before building began. The town was founded in 1902, built to house the mining communities that worked in the nearby Stanford Merthyr and Pelaw Main collieries.

2

Despite its Aboriginal name, there is no history of Aboriginal people having lived in the area of Kurri Kurri prior to its development.

3

The Kurri Kurri hotel (pictured above) was built at the peak of the mining industry boom, in 1904. The prominent three-storey building features ornate cast-iron lacework and remains open to this day. It hosts regular live music events catering for locals and passing tourists.
