Our key pest control services in Nelson Bay
Regular termite inspections are a must for homeowners, with an annual inspection giving peace of mind that termites have not entered the home undetected. Many customers take the opportunity to have their house treated for general pests with an annual spray treatment at the same time, which is a more cost-effective option.
If a particular pest is causing trouble, take a look at the range of specialist pest control services we offer (click on one of the pest images below to find out more).
We service a number of commercial customers such as cafes, restaurants, holiday rentals and apartments, ensuring that businesses remain pest free and safe environments. Regular servicing schedules are adaptable to the needs of the business.

Nelson Bay Climate
Nelson Bay – Key Pests
Termites pose the greatest threat for homeowners, as they can cause considerable damage within the space of just a few months. One particular species of termite that is active in the Nelson Bay area is Schedorhinotermes, a particularly tricky species to control. They build multiple nests, meaning that while one nest may be found and destroyed, there are certainly a few more hiding nearby! That’s why regular inspections are advised (at least every 12 months) so that termites aren’t given the opportunity to build large colonies in or around your home.
The wet, humid climate of Nelson Bay is ideal for many pests, including cockroaches, spiders and ants. Heavy rains can drive insects inside looking for shelter, so having a ‘spider spray’ in the spring can deter many crawling pests from coming indoors.
Flies and mosquitoes are also persistent pests in the summer and early autumn months.
Nelson Bay – Key Facts
Once a sunny little fishing village home to just 30 people in the 1880s,Nelson Bay is now the largest town in the Port Stephens council area and home to around 5000 people. It is a two hour and 45 minute drive north from Sydney.
The town is a departure point for numerous nature tourism experiences, such as whale watching and dolphin tours, which operate from May to November. Diving and snorkelling are also very popular, with the ‘Looking Glass’ split providing some spectacular underwater sights. Despite being a tourism hub the town retains its old-world charm.
Dating from 1872, the Inner Lighthouse that sits on Nelson Head is a National Trust siteand is still fully operational, with the original kerosene lamps being upgraded to electric lights in 1946.
