Our key pest control services in Hunter Valley
For most homeowners an annual “pest spray” is enough to keep their homes free from spiders and other pests. However, as some customers suffer from a specific pest infestation, we do offer a range of other specialist pest control services (click on a pest below to find out more). Many of our customers combine their annual pest control or spider treatment with their annual termite inspection (a must for all homeowners!). This can provide significant savings when compared to booking the services separately.
We also offer a range of commercial pest control services to health care and aged care facilities, schools, cafes, restaurants, hotels, retail, office buildings, real estate and mining.
Termite Inspections and treatments
Being a largely rural area, the Upper Hunter is an area of significant termite activities. One of the main termite species, Coptotermes acinaciformis, can build nests of over 1 million termites and are capable of causing significant damage in a matter of months.
With the warm temperatures, termites are active for most of the year, although they do slow down in the coldest months of winter. Nevertheless, it’s important to have annual termite inspections and it is highly recommended to install a termite protection system around buildings – either treating the soil with termiticide or installing a termite monitoring and baiting system.

Termites should always be the number one concern for homeowners, whether you have timber, brick or even metal framed home. The bottom line is that if there is wood present, termites are always trying to find their way in to get to it!
Spiders can certainly be a problem in the Hunter, especially after a wet spring. Of the flying insects, flies are always a big problem and although at the edge of its range, the dangerous European wasps can also be a problem.
Rodent problems, especially in winter are common. With the wine and agricultural areas in the Hunter, there is generally plenty of food for mice. So when it gets cold, they try come inside to find a warm place to stay
